Curbside Recycle
As of December 1st, 2011, Ada's trash service has been taken over by WCA. With this new trash service people living inside the city limits of Ada are able to take advantage of single-stream curbside recycling. Here is what you can recycle using Ada's curbside recycling program-
- Newspapers
- Jar lids
- Junk mail and copier paper
- Phonebooks
- Cardboard
- Paperboard
- Brown and white paper bags
- Paper egg cartons
- Drink cartons (like milk and juice cartons)
- Plastic #1 and #2
- Magazines
- Softcover books
- Aluminum containers
- Steel containers
- Spiral wound paperboard containers
Please don't put the following items in your bin-
- Styrofoam egg cartons
- Styrofoam
- Foil drink pouches or cartons
- Plastics #3-#7
- Oil or antifreeze containers
- Glass (of any kind)
- Plastic bags or packaging
- Paper towels, tissues, or toilet paper
- Light bulbs (of any kind)
- Ceramic
- Paper, plastic or styrofoam dishes
- Syringes
- Food waste
- Also no flammable, hazardous or medical waste.
If you need an extra recycling bin call Ada Public Works at 580-436-8100. The extra bin is available for $3 a month.
Drop-Off Recycling
Ada has several locations where people can drop-off their recyclables. You can find the locations by clicking here. Here are the items you can recycle at the drop-off locations.
- Paper- white office paper, computer paper, letter-head, shredded office paper, envelopes (windows okay),manilla folders, newspaper (all inserts are okay), magazines, catalogs, brochures, junk mail, brown paper bags, and feed sacks (with no plastic liner).
- Plastic- Plastic bottles and jugs #1 and #2. Remove lids, no toys or butter tubs allowed.
- Aluminum cans
- Corrugated cardboard
Please don't put the following items in the drop-off bins-
- Styrofoam egg cartons
- Styrofoam

Business owners may reduce the cost of their garbage service by recycling cardboard. The public may use an "blue" container marked "cardboard" located throughout the city to recycle cardboard.
